The AdSense Readiness Checklist for Content Sites (2026)
A practical, structural checklist to run before applying — or re-applying — to AdSense. Every item is something you can actually verify on your own site, with no guarantees attached.
Most "AdSense checklists" are either fluff ("write great content!") or superstition ("apply on a Tuesday"). This one is different: every item is structural and verifiable — something you can look at on your own site and mark done or not-done. It won't guarantee approval, because nothing honestly can. It will remove the concrete reasons a reviewer says no.
Work top to bottom. The earlier items matter most.
Content
- Enough substantial pages. You want a body of real posts, not a handful of thin ones. Quality and depth matter more than a magic count.
- Each page delivers on its title. The bulk of every page answers the exact question it promises. No 400-word intros that never reach the point.
- No near-duplicate clusters. No sets of posts that are the same article with one word swapped. Consolidate them into fewer, better pages.
- No un-reviewed generation. Search your own site for leftover tells:
[INTERNAL LINK],[KEYWORD],{{title}},lorem ipsum, or lines likeAs an AI language model. Any hit means content shipped unread. - Original value on every page. Nothing that could appear unchanged on a completely different site. Specific numbers, examples, and caveats are what separate useful from filler.
Required pages (the trust layer)
- Privacy Policy — present and reachable from the footer.
- About — a real page that says who is behind the site.
- Contact — a working way to reach you.
- Terms — recommended, especially if you have any forms or commerce.
Missing these is one of the fastest rejections to earn and the fastest to fix. (See how to write each one, or check which you already have.)
