Heading Structure (H1 / H2) Checker

Paste a URL to see its H1 and H2 outline — and whether the heading structure is sound.

What this checks

This tool reads your page read-only and extracts its headings: the <h1> (it flags zero or more than one) and the <h2> outline, in document order. You get the actual heading text plus a quick OK / issues read.

Why heading structure matters

Headings are how both readers and search engines understand a page's shape. The ideal is exactly one H1 that states the page's topic, followed by H2 sections that break the content into skimmable parts. Zero H1s leaves the page's subject ambiguous; multiple H1s dilute it; a wall of text with no H2s is hard to read and rarely ranks for the sub-questions it could.

How to read the result

See a single clear H1 and a logical set of H2s? You're good. If the H1 is missing, duplicated, or your H2 outline reads like a random list, that's a fast structural fix — and one of the cheapest on-page SEO wins there is.

This checks one thing. Want the full picture?

A NicheAudit scan runs the whole structural checklist against your site — thin and duplicate content, leftover AI/template boilerplate, missing required pages, broken links, ads.txt, images, and more — read-only, with the evidence for each. It won't promise approval; it shows you the concrete list.
